KOACH is equipped with a nanofiber air filter and air flow control mechanism that generates coherent air flows, opposing air flows and rectangular confluence air flows.
Through the combination of these original technologies, a super clean zone with ISO Class 1 cleanliness is materialized in an open space.
- “FERENA,” nanofiber air filter
Electro-spinning method is a process invented over 50 years ago as an early development stage in laboratory to manufacture very fine micro fibers.
All over the world people took on a venture to commercialize this new technology at the idea that an ultimate form of aerosol filter can be produced, but failed to mass produce it in earnest.

- A clean zone is created by making coherent air flows generated from two opposing push hoods collide with each other.
Push hoods of KOACH, an open cleanroom system, generate purified coherent air flows filtered by FERENA, high performance filter.
Despite their special properties, such coherent air flows, however, induce the surrounding air as they travel away from the air-blowing surfaces of the push hoods if an area is not surrounded by walls. Thus, the clean zone area gradually becomes smaller. (Fig.1)
This problem was resolved by making purified coherent air flows generated by the two opposing push hoods collide with each other (opposing air flows). In other words, because horizontally opposing air flows effectively suppresses induction of the surrounding air, almost no decrease in the level of air cleanliness within the clean zone is seen even at a point far away from the air-blowing surfaces of the push hoods. (Fig. 2)
- Innovative technology to expand a clean zone
To expand a clean zone, we studied the idea of placing and connecting together multiple push hoods. However, we could not prevent contaminants from entering through the gap opening between the adjoining push hoods.
We solved this problem by using the “rectangular confluence” technology.
The basic principle of KOACH that two opposing uniformed air flows are bended at 90 degrees in both directions at the point of collision, thus the contaminated air will be pushed out together was applied to the gap opening between the adjoining push hoods and the expansion of a clean zone was realized.
Since then we have succeeded in the development of new technologies to create a clean zone in still more spacious areas such as the Floor KOACH that uses the building block method for its assembly and the room-type Floor KOACH Ex with a guide screen.
While the maximum distance across a clean zone between the opposing push hoods was extended to 5.5 meters by using the building block method, it was extended much longer to 40 meters with the introduction of a guide screen.
